Volunteer FAQ

When do we have to show up?

Check-in dates are as follows:

Pre-Festival Volunteers                          10/16/09
Festival & Trash Volunteers                  10/16/09 - 10/17/09
Post-Festival Volunteers                       10/18/09

If you are accepted into the volunteer program, you will receive more specific information about your volunteer assignment and work schedule.

Do I need a ticket?

NO! You will receive a complimentary ticket for day that you volunteer so please do not buy a ticket for yourself.

What type of jobs/departments could I be working in?

There are a variety of different departments including vendor set up and coordination, manning the parking areas, handing out fliers, assisting sponsors in the running of their booths at the festival, helping out at different entry gates, VIP areas set up and maintenance (just to name a few)…

Essentially volunteers are on hand to help out when and where they are needed. You may end up getting pulled from one area and shifted to another, based on changing needs. The key is to be flexible and willing to lend a hand.

I am a registered Nurse or trained EMT, can I volunteer to work in the medical tents?

While a medical background is ALWAYS appreciated on site, the volunteer program does not outfit the medical areas with any volunteers. We will forward your request on to the appropriate department and they will contact you if they have positions available.

I have a technical and/or production background; can I volunteer with the Olde Tyme Days tech crews?

The volunteer program does not staff any of the technical staff with volunteers.

Will I be assigned to port-o-potty cleanup detail?

NO!!! Olde Tyme Days volunteers will not be assigned to port-a potty clean up duty.

What is the street team effort?

Please reach out to info@hutto.org for further details. Street team volunteers are completely separate from festival and pre-festival volunteers.

What are the perks (besides getting to be a part of such a sweet festival)?

Each volunteer will receive:
• 1 Free Ticket to evening show for themselves.
• Hutto Olde Tyme Days T-Shirt
• Access to VIP Area

Do volunteers get to see the show?

Yes. As a volunteer you are welcome to do whatever you choose with your free time as long as you show up on time and ready to work when scheduled.

Can I request to work with a friend?

There is a field on the 2009 application to request to work with a friend. Please remember that while we try to do our best, keep in mind that all request are NOT guaranteed.

How can I get a band on the agenda?

Band request will not be take through any of the volunteer emails.
